Easter Message
As I sat in the hot tub the week before Easter under the crisp air of a prolonged winter, Jesus appeared before me. It wasn't the first time. He has appeared to me a handful of times as a vision. This time, however, he had a clear message. Perhaps because I asked him a direct question.
In this most recent vision, Jesus stood in front of the Light of the Creator. As he appeared, I began to recite the verse, "I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life". It was like a mantra repeating over and over again. Okay, I thought to myself. I know you are the way, the truth and the life. That's nothing new. But are you the only way, the only truth and the only life?
As the mantra continued, my mind tried to recite part two of the verse. But my mind was not in control in this moment. Every time I tried to continue, I was brought right back to that first line.
My head then bowed down, pointing directly into my heart space. The mantra continued and Jesus was showing me that I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life.
This wasn't exactly news to me but more of a confirmation. If we are to be like Jesus, and Jesus said these words, perhaps I am to say these words as well. Not as a proclamation to a group of followers. Not as an exclusive declaration. But more like words of wisdom to guide me as I go about my day.
I always strive to be like Jesus. I always have. In my thoughts, in my words and in my deeds. It may not always come out that way, but that has always been the goal. If I can embody these words and live by this mantra in everything that I am and do, I don't think I can go too wrong.
The kingdom of heaven is within you after all, isn't that what He said? And it was never more clear to me than in that moment.
